How To Learn Sign Language

…Who’s TheDailySign?

Hey guys, so today I thought I would do something different and tell you all a little bit about me and answer some of the questions I get a lot So yeah So my name is Libbey and I’m 17 and from Ohio I’ve been teaching myself sign language for like two years now from the internet so…yeah I used the sites, um, ASL pro dot-com and Spread the sign dot-com and I will link those below so that you can use them too, they’re like, um, video dictionaries, kind of I guess. I sign with PSE grammar, not ASL which just means that I’m using, like spoken or written grammar instead of the ASL because, because I’m teaching myself I can’t really find a good place to learn the grammar So like you guys know, I do songs and tutorials here every: Monday, Wednesday and Friday but that might change in the future, I don’t know really yeah you can give me requests but I can’t do them all sadly because there are too many and also I try to do things that I like or I think you guys might like too So…yeah… And yes I do a lot of like, rock and metal music because I really like it Um..(laughs) I will try to keep doing pop and hip hop too But I’m not going to stop doing rock, sorry if you don’t like it (Chuckles nervously) So no as of right now I don’t have any social media I might get it in the future If I do, then I will, like, link it down below and in my videos and whatever but I have an app called “Gif Boom” and I post everyday there Which is where I get my name but because I post everyday I can do more requests there, I still can’t do them all but I can do some of them (laughs) So if you want you can follow me there …too if you want to see me every single day (laughs) so yeah So lastly I wanted to thank you guys like a ton for all the support you guys give me here its awesome, I didn’t expect it (laughs) so, thank you that’s all I have to say so if you have anymore questions , just leave them down below and I will try to answer them bye guys

  • I really love what you're doing and that fact that you're popular but still manage to give everyone an answer. That is so nice Libbey.

  • I don't know if you've gotten this request yet, and your line is probably busy, but could you do "King for a Day" by Pierce the Veil? If you can, thanks in advance!

By the way, lifeprint.com is great. It has free lessons, and they actually can count as credit for school! It has grammar as well as a video dictionary, and because my mom is an interpreter, I want to learn ASL as well and she said that the site teaches ASL correctly! πŸ™‚

  • You're really inspirational. You moved me to start learning ASL. I'm like 15 but if you can do it, anybody can😊

  • I learn asl when I was in 8th grade I'm taking more asl at college because I want to be a deaf education teacher and I am deaf and hard of hearing I have cochlear implant on my right ear I love using signing and my voice the same timeπŸ˜ƒ

  • Lifeprint.com is an awesome resource for ASL grammar. I've taught myself via the Internet as well, using Handspeak.com for vocabulary. Also, watching deaf YouTubers has been incredibly helpful in terms of familiarizing myself with facial grammar, idioms, and finger spelling practice. In case you ever want to learn ASL. πŸ™‚
