RENT (The musical) info
December 12, 2019
Hello! Maybe you’re already familiar with the musical RENT. It’s a movie, too. It takes place in New York during 1989 and 1990. The story has many layers including HIV/AIDS, drug addiction, falling in and out of love, poverty, homelessness, etc. A very powerful and touching story, but still with a lot of humor involved. Soon, you will have the opportunity to see RENT with interpreters provided. I am not interpreting, I am in the show as the character Mimi. The interpreters will be Leia Fensterman-Sparks and Brice Christianson for Friday night, January 24th, at 7:30pm. The address is 11838 Center Hill Rd., in Darlington. Darlington is in the SouthWest corner of Wisconsin, near my hometown Platteville. It’s about 2 and 1/2 hours from Milwaukee. I totally understand that it’s a far drive. Maybe you could chat with Milwaukee and Madison Deaf communities and carpool together? If you have Deaf friends/family who live near Darlington, please share this information with them! Ticket info… Tickets are $12 each. Cash only. No credit cards or online purchases available. What typically happens is they start selling tickets at 6:30pm, the doors to the auditorium open at 7pm, and the show starts at 7:30pm. If you know there’s no way you can arrive early enough to wait in line to buy tickets, that’s fine! Just contact me here on FaceBook Messenger and we can figure something out. If you are familiar with the app Venmo or FaceBook Messenger Pay, I have both of those. Just let me know how many tickets you need, pay me, then I can buy your tickets before the show. The tickets will be held for you at the front table. When you arrive, you will pick up your tickets and enter the theater. If you have any questions, please contact me here on FaceBook Messenger. Please copy and paste this video link to let people know there will be ASL interpreters provided for RENT Friday night, January 24th at 7:30pm. Thank you!
