How to Program your Shaw Remote Champ model | Shaw Support

The Shaw remote control that’s included
with your cable box can also be programmed to control the basic features of your television like power and volume all from the convenience of a single remote. There are two ways to program your Shaw Champ Remote to operate your TV. The first is to do an Automated Scan for the code that will program the
remote to control your make and model of TV. To start, with your TV and cable box
turned on and the remote pointed at your TV, press and hold the setup button on
your remote until the LED blinks twice. Next, press the TV power button once and
then press and hold the OK button. After a short period, your TV should turn off and you can now release the OK button. Your remote should now be programmed and ready to use. If this doesn’t work, you can program the remote with the specific setup codes for the type and manufacturer of your TV. To get the codes, you’ll need the remote control User Guide included with your digital box. If you can’t find the User Guide, you can access a digital version from the link below this video. Once again, confirm that both your cable box and TV are on and press the TV power button once. Next, press and hold the setup button until the LED flashes twice. Using the number pad on the remote, enter the code listed for your device and manufacturer in the remote user guide. If there are multiple codes, start with the first in the list. Once you have entered the code, press the TV power button. If your television turns off, your remote is successfully programmed for your TV. If the remote does not turn the TV off, repeat these steps while using the next code in the list, until you’ve found the code that works.
