7a. Beginner ASL Lesson Seven Part I: Vocabulary

co-host Regent Gendron Now, if you haven’t done lessons 1 through 6 be sure to go back and do those. If you have, you’re in the right place, let’s get started. Store Move Move has many different signs It depends on the content If you’re moving out of the city you would sign it like this ‘move’ If you’re moving to the city you would sign it like this ‘move’ Move out Move in So, there’s lots of different signs for move So if you’re moving out of the city You would do that ‘move out’ And if you’re moving into the city, ‘move’ If you’re talking about moving a chair you’d do this You wouldn’t sign ‘move’ like this It depends on what you are moving, how you would sign move. To sign ‘move’ you would use different hand shapes It depends on the situation Don’t be stuck with using this sign for move If you have to move a table you wouldn’t sign move the table like this. you have to keep the focus where it is in real life move move out move in Okay? So, don’t get stuck on using that sign for ‘move’ It depends on what you’re talking about. So, if you’re telling someone to move you could move it like this Or, table Ya, it depends on the situation You’re not going to sign table ‘move’ like this that wouldn’t make sense. Right, it wouldn’t make sense if you said ‘table’ Gym Exercise Walk Shop Drinks You have two different types of drinks drink and drink This drink means alcohol wine beer tequila All different types of alcohol For coffee, water pop you’d sign drink like this So, when you’re talking about going out for drinks, alcohol, wine, beer like this If you’re talking about coffee, milk, water work Coffee Vacation Haircut School Bowling Beach Park Home Movie Go-out Groceries Running Running – meaning ‘exercise’ You sign it like this If water is running You wouldn’t sign this For running water in a tap you’d sign it like this If you’re nose is running you’d sign like this or this If your car is running, you’d sign like this If you’re running because
you’re busy, you’d sign it like this If a woman’s panty hose has a run in it,
you’d sign it like this There are many different signs for running But in this case of running you’d sign like this Go ahead and explain So for this, it’s running, like ‘exercise running’ you would use this But if the water was running Then, like that If, your nose was running and, if a woman’s panty hose were running So it depends on the situation and what word you’re using what you mean by running Study Homework Bus station Autumn Winter Summer Spring Year Train station Amusement park Today Tomorrow Yesterday Alright, now it’s review time.
